GR11 / TRANSPIRENAICA​

"In July of 2024, at age 20, Andy Jacob set out to cross the entirety of the Spanish Pyrenees, from Irun in the Basque Country to Cap De Creus, Catalonia. Spanning the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, 886 kilometers, 39 days and over 48,000 meters of elevation gain.

The journey was documented on an Olympus OM2n, shooting over 21 rolls of Kodak Portra 800. This experience was a pivotal moment in the young man’s life. These are images of wanderlust and of coming of age; discovery of one’s self in the mountains and the wilderness.

The book contains 60 pages of images and journal entries documenting the adventure. Injuries and hardships, the highs and lows, peace and solitude." - Emil Raja. 
 

This journey had such a profound impact on me in ways I cannot fully explain. All I know is that I am not the same person I was before hiking the GR11.
